Dear Friends,

I want to sincerely thank all of you for your help and strong support during the past two years and most especially this campaign. You have been my strength, my inspiration and most of all, my source of direction. Mere thanks will never be enough to repay all of you.

Rather than focus on this loss, I think we all need to look at what we accomplished. We put together a great start on a new and vibrant downtown business district. We are building a new fire station. We lowered taxes and established tighter budget controls and processes. We kept the new Scott County Justice Center in our city. We have a great staff of professionals with fresh attitudes and exciting ideas. We help bring great new jobs and industries with companies such as ADC Telecommunications. We helped with significant educational and cultural events such as the ArtTrain. We assisted in expanding needed services through St. Mary’s Clinic. Shakopee is better because of our efforts. That was always our goal.

Being Mayor has given me the opportunity to make a difference in my hometown, start some much needed projects and concepts, impact the future of this City for the better, and most of all, get to know and work with so many fine people. Thank you all for allowing me to serve and represent Shakopee for the past two years.
